The Secaucus Animal Shelter

Secaucus provides a full time Animal Control Officer who is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to pick up stray dogs and cats and rescue injured animals, both domestic and wildlife. They will also trap and relocate wildlife that is endangering or annoying residents. The Officer also enforces dog licenses and lease laws, monitors spay/neuter and release program for feral cats. This Officer also works with the Health Officer on related health issues.

The Secaucus Animal Shelter houses stray animals, particularly dogs and cats, and provides care for them. An Adoption Program operates from the shelter with the goal of placing sheltered animals in good homes.
